We are seeking a talented and motivated C# Software Developer (m/f/d) to help us develop the open-source project for computational modeling and simulation for life sciences (pharmacological research and toxicological risk assessment) “Open Systems Pharmacology” (OSP, www.open-systems-pharmacology.org).
ESQlabs is an innovative, internationally acting Contract Research Organization and a global leader in the development and application of the OSP Suite (www.open-systems-pharmacology.org). We are a research-focused provider of specialized computational analyses in the life sciences industry. In close collaboration with industry and academia, we are committed to software development to fulfill our own and our client's needs and the needs of the open-source community.
Role
As a part of the ESQlabs software development team and in close collaboration with our multi-disciplinary research teams, you will be part of the OSP core development team and help ESQlabs to strengthen and expand its role as the major contributor to the OSP project. OSP is a GUI-based software for mathematical modeling in life science research (with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry) implemented in .NET, C++, and R.
Our software development goals are to help our colleagues become more efficient, implement new features for our clients, and expand to new application areas such as Software as a Service (SaaS).
The tasks associated with this role are (but not limited to):
- Analysis of system requirements and development of technical specifications
- Development of clean, testable business logic and accompanying test fixtures (.NET)
- Creating graphical user interfaces (WinForms, DevExpress)
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing code (focus on C#, but also C++)
- Participate in peer reviews
- Implementation of new methods for mathematical modeling and simulation and statistical data analysis
- Development of new APIs to connect the software with other (programming) environments, such as R, Python
Required skills & experience
- Bachelor's degree in data sciences or a comparable field
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and common design patterns
- Track record of successful software projects in C# and C++
- Agile mindset, problem-solving skills, and willingness to embrace change and new technologies
- Strong self-organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Fluency in English (oral and written), German is a plus
Further qualities that will put you in the spotlight
- Passion for life sciences (biology, pharmacy, chemistry)
- Knowledge in mathematics and statistics
- Experience with UX design
- Experience in Cloud-Technologies such as Microsoft Azure, AWS
